History and architecture
The
operation of St. Paul’s Church of Tartu can be viewed at four periods:
1910-1933 –
the establishment and growth of the congregation, and construction of the
church;
1933-1944 –
the congregation was divided into sub-congregations and a politically complicated
period;
1944-1988 –
the church burnt down, was rebuilt, and assigned to various “owners”;
1988 to
present day – the period of several changes in the church.
As of now,
the church has returned to the full ownership of the congregation and awaits
its entry into service in full size and glory.
